What is "Integrative Medicine"?
Integrative medicine is simply looking at the entire body's physiology and biochemistry to understand and relieve various disease processes. You may have family or friends that state "I can eat that, I feel weird afterwards" or "whenever I do this, I feel that." These actions are affecting that individuals physiology and biochemistry differently than someone elses.
The practice of integrative medicine encompesses nutrition, supplements, exercise, hormones, and stress reduction. It requires time, patience and determination to "move the needle", but when the needle is moved it is a life altering event.
Depending on the individuals complaints various specialized testing is generally performed to evaluate the individuals food sensitivities, gastrointestinal function, biochemical function and stress response. Toxin exposure and heavy metal evaluation is performed when necessary.
